this is what i think should have happened at the end of The Name of the Doctor

the original clara should have been lost in the doctor’s timeline, and the doctor follows her in to save her.

but instead of ending up in that weird purgatory-esque wasteland, they should have been separated and ended up in different points of the doctor’s history

and the implication would be that the 50th is the doctor and clara traversing his timeline to find each other

because what i really wanted was for this episode to end with the doctor ending up at some point during 10’s lifespan

and it ends with the two of them staring at each other

and then ten goes

“what.”

emptyjerrycan replied to your post: oh come on zach the finale wasn’t that bad. i was…

i think this one was relatively… harmless? like not really good or a stand-out at all but not infuriating and groan-inducing like a lot of other episodes were. though i’ll probably hate it too by the end of the week.

it’s not so much even that i hated this one. it wasn’t horrible.

it just.

cemented the fact that what doctor who is right now is not something that i enjoy watching.

Anonymous asked: oh come on zach the finale wasn't that bad. i was admittedly disappointed with this season, i feel like the only great episode was asylum of the daleks, but i really like the chemistry between clara and the doctor, there're booth very cute together. yes the reveal was a bit disappointing, it felt like river was kind of crammed in there, and i literally have no idea what the fuck just happened at the very very end but those are my only complaints. at least it was better then the season 6 finale

yeah i know the season 6 finale was worse. but i don’t feel any chemistry between the doctor and clara. it feels one sided, like he’s projecting all of this Need for a Companion onto her and she’s just kind of there. and that would work for his character, but she doesn’t actually all that independent as a person? it seems weird for her to have just flung herself into the doctor’s grave without a moment’s hesitation.

i feel like a lot of the finale was poorly written, in terms of explanations, plot developments, and some of the dialogue. i just really was not impressed at all.

and it’s not just a “boo steven moffat” thing. moffat has written many great episodes, some of which are my favorites in all of New Who. but that doesn’t change the fact that the finale didn’t exceed or even meet my very, very low expectations.
